Bedford Van Insurance - Crazy Cancellation Prices

Just wanted to make everyone aware of this company - I can see it's been done before but unfortunately I missed it.
Basically I filled out all the insurance information via the GoCompare website with every detail correct. Once confirmed and paid I received an email stating Bedford needed to speak with me. I spoke with them and they asked how many years no claims insurance do I have which I answered correctly and provided the proof of NCB. It turns out that this needed to be NCB on a van and not my previous car and therefore the policy premium would increase by £114 for this reason, when I then asked to cancel the cancellation charge was £90 so I was cornered. All the Bedford Insurance rep said was 'It's in our T&C's, it's in our T&C's'.
I've checked the GoCompare website and the question asks - 'How many years' no-claims bonus do you have?' -
It does not distinguish between a Van or a Car NCB however a little yello box pops up and still this doesnt (in my view) adequately inform the consumer about this question. I filled the information out correctly and should not have been on the hook for the additional money. I asked them to contact GoCompare as they are profiteering out of this - charging a low initial policy based on a deceiving question and then customers find out they have to pay £90 to cancel.
Naive on my part but an honest mistake.
Would advise everyone to avoid this company.
