Lost parcel: Delivered, with no Signature

I recently bought to pairs of trainers from Sports Direct. A week later i returned them using ParcelCompare (Hermes). 3 days later I received a confirmation that it was DElLIVERED ( No signature obtained from carrier).

When i contacted Sports Direct 3 weeks later they wrote to me that "I have checked and cannot see that the return has yet been received by ourselves.
Please continue to track your return; if you have any questions or queries about the return parcel, we’d ask that you contact the courier you used for the return. Sadly, Sports Direct cannot accept liability for the return until it has been delivered and signed for by us".

Is Sports Direct correct in saying that they are not responsible for the parcel even if on tracking it said DELIVERED?
Do i have a claim with Parcel Compare? When i picked a service there was £50 cover; However it was never specified if the delivery would be with or without signature and I never saw any other options specifically mentioning Signature Required.

You chose the courier (and went through a reseller to boot) so its nor responsibility, you need to dispute the delivery with Parcel Compare.
  • Does it say it was delivered to the correct address? Many delivery companies now don't take signatures due to covid.

ALL deliveries are without "Signature" now & have been for over a year....

If you are lucky you will get a picture, but going to a returns dept of Sports Direct \i would doubt that as there will be loads of them.
