Ectophile said:The way I read it, you have the same right to light as the council had before the land was sold to build your house. It doesn't actually say what those rights were, though.
I'm with Ectophile and would read that as them simply transferring all rights and responsibilities insofar as they were owned by the Council, without specifying what these might actually be.0 -
Hello, sorry to jump on this but we have the same clause in our own ex council owner property and it really is most unhelpful when trying to decipher what it actually means! Can I ask if your neighbours have 24/7 general access over your land because of this clause? Any help would be much appreciated because after 12 years of living here without any access the neighbours are now saying because of this clause they can now start walking over our land both during the day and night whenever they like and also give authority to anyone else to do the same.0

Please start a new thread, and give full details, as succinctly as possible.1 -

Please start a new thread, and give full details, as succinctly as possible.Probably doesn't need a new thread if the wording is the same as the OP's - the simple answer is 'no'.The neighbours won't have 24/7 general access over CarrLincs land, the clause relates to established rights of way or easements, it doesn't grant a general 'right to roam'. Any rights of way or easements should be set out in the deeds.1 -
Thank you so much for your response, that's very helpful.0
