you need two directors for a limited company so one of the director could just be a sleeping partner. No you don't.
You used to need a director and a company secretary but they did away with that requirement a few years ago and now just need a single director

chikexx1 said:Absolutely! I was married to this man for 10 years and have 3 small children. My role as agreed until the children were old enough would be to stay at home and believe me it is a lot harder with 3 young boys than going to work! I left the running of the business to him ! Just like he left everything regarding the house and boys to me! Believe me he would have no idea of which child was supposed to be where and when !! Which child needed what abs when etc etc which rightly or wrongly when you are in a long term relationship the main thing you should really have is trust in each other! Sadly for me I chose to trust the wrong person!!!!
You see him in a negative way for not knowing where the boys should be on what day whilst admitting you didn't know anything about the business so it's a bit hypocritical of you to complain about that. Once again, you agreed to this set up.
His actions now are in the wrong but let the anger/upset/whatever calm down and he's still the same man who put food on the table and a roof above the families head for a decade.1 -
Oh my! So it’s ok to up and leave 3 children now with no food on the table!! He did it for 10 years so that’s ok!! Are they no longer his children!!2

The point made is, you both agreed to the roles for 10 years and both stuck to them. He didn't know about the children's lives you took care of, and you didn't know about the business which he took care of. So for 10 years you both had defined roles you agreed to and each worked on your own areas (you = children / him = business).
It's completely different to know, where we all agree - Burlington included - that what is going on now is wrong.
It was only a reply to advise not to bring into the posts situations you were both happy with at the time and use it as a bad example.
No one has said they are no longer his children.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....2 -

An accountant could easily bamboozle his wife into allowing him to handle tax stuff "because I'm an accountant darling" so that he becomes her tax agent.. If she doesn't work, he can add some of her tax allowance, to his. If she isn't au fait with company stuff, she may be a director in name only ie listed at Companies House, paid into joint bank account and just getting an allowance for housekeeping from husband.
HMRC might be interested in the car, since husband may be claiming business mileage for all /most of wife's mileage. That's why OP needs a solicitor to help, so that HMRC doesn't think she was aiding and abetting tax avoidance.0
