Hi. I have an extension lead with my electric disability bed plugged in to it, and a separate plug for the air mattress. I also use the extension lead for an led lamp adaptor, a laptop charger, and then 3 usb adapters into it for my phones and fans etc which i swap around because i dont have enough outlets. What i need advice on, if anyone is kind enough to spend their time explaining the options is ..... My phones are both huawei super fast charging, by the way, so i cant work out, i need more sockets, for both mains plugs and for usb items, (but need the 2 fast phone ones). Am i better getting a combined mains and usb extension bar/tower, or should i be getting a separate usb hub with fast charge or something, if so can this plug into the extension lead?? All the combined mains and usb ones, seem to have a very low output on the usb ports? HELP. !!! Sorry if its all a bit vague, you can tell its not my strong point. Thanks for anyones help

https://cpc.farnell.com/pro-elec/pel00133/extension-tower-8g-surge-black/dp/PL15414?ost=pl15414These are 8 way extension/tower with 2 USB chargers. The site is business so you would need someone with an account or find equivalent elsewhere - I've tried but without success. As for huawei super fast charging - according to the brief specification:the maximum charging current would exceed the USB plug and probably lead as well. For peace of mind I would use exisiting huawei chargers - specifications are often exaggerated..

Hi
There are sockets with USB charging points that are integral.

That would need an electrician to fit.
Possibly converter sockets...

Yet again a professional job, especially as the depth of the box is critical.
A less complicated conversion...

but still a competent person necessary.
If in doubt please ask.

Just found huawei super fast charging lead is rated at - 5amps - the maximum for USB... not 8amps as calculated. The integral USB charging points I quoted are 2.4amp, - those above from Screwfix are 3.1amp so would not plug huawei super fast charging lead into either.

Yes, so i would have to use my actual phone charger still into the extension lead. Unless i could use like a high power usb multi hub and then could use the other usb ports as well, i think that way would give the usbs more power as the usb output do seem to be split across the ports on the extension leads with usb on as well as main plug sockets I hope that makes some sort of sense.0

I hope that makes some sort of senseIt does, but I've glanced of several high power usb hubs on Amazon - non of them gategorically confirm 5amp rating for a single socket, just 12amps spread over 4 outlets {so around 3amp on average}.Judging by the price there is lttle overcurrent protection so it's very much user-risk.

I would just daisy chain if no suitable outlet nearby to have two extensions strips/towers.
Have an extension lead to somewhere like under the bed for all the fixed items that don't get unplugged a lot(ever)
then another to a suitable location for access with your device chargers.
Remember although your have fast charging option they still charge on any old adaptor or USB the device should detect and charge accordingly.
For say overnight top up/charging a USB hub with cables may be fine and neater

Hi
Running extension leads near/under carpets and bedding does create a risk, IMHO, therefore things plugged directly into a wall sock is preferable.Forum, Agin 'em or Just Neutral?1 -
I got this addtam extension lead with usb for my wife and it seems to be good quality but you might need more sockets?

Thanks for all answers.
Out of interest, can a usb multi port hub be plugged into a mains extension lead? I see you can get say, an 60w 6 port one on amazon, if i was to stick with a decent brand one?0
