Vanguard Help

Hello,
It appears that I cannot actually buy shares on Vanguard - instead I get a 'wrapper' called an equity fund, is that correct? There are over 20 of these to choose from, all with different risk scores and rates of return. is it not possible to build my own individual stock portfolio on Vanguard - if not, where can I do that outside of trading212?

I assume I must choose an equity fund to invest in - can I have more than 1, 2, 3? What are the rules here and withdrawing - no limits?

And which Vanguard wrapper would you recommend for £100k investment for only a 4 month period? I want the highest risk and return, preferably focus on travel and airline stocks, not so tech oriented. Thanks.

I think the SNP500 looks good... Any other suggestions?? Global tracker doesn't look too bad either.

Vanguard only sell funds or ETF's. They do not sell individual shares

There is no share investment that I would recommend for a 4 month period. If you need the money withing the next 5 years, then the best place for it would be a savings account . Or half in a savings account and half in Premium Bonds.

What you are suggesting is not investing but Trading (i.e. gambling). The equivalent of betting £100k, on a horse race or a turn of the cards at blackjack. Most people who trade lose their money.

My friend said I should buy the SNP500 fund at the next dip because tech is still under February ATH... I'm still learning about investing so pls bare with me. With £100k investment, I could potentially get 10-20% return in 4 months to August... I'll just leave it in longer if it falls... Buy the dip as they say!!

Sadly, as they also say, they don't ring a bell at the top of the market.

I repeat what you are suggesting is Trading (gambling) not investing. If you want to invest, you should think in terms of 10 years or longer. Not the short time span you are thinking about.

The S&P 500 is the highest its ever been. There will be a market crash. Its just that we do not know when.

I do not think much of your friends suggestion. Its your £100k not your friends.

Do you think I've missed the buying opportunity and am too late to the game??
Some funds on Vanguard have increased 50-60% last tax year.. Do you think this tax year they will drop due to market correction/crash?? I have no crystal ball, do you?

Just like everyone else I ca not see into the future. Your guess is the as good as anyone's

If you really intend to invest £100k,I suggest you see an Independent Financial Advisor (IFA) of spend the next 4 months learning about investing before jumping in.

No crystal balls but your desire to speculate with a £100k for a 4 month period requires growing a pair given your investment selections so far. The game by the way never ends.
