  • Interesting - I'm sure this has happened to me yesterday.
I typically change my order on the day before delivery after just ordering a few things to effective reserve the slot earlier.
I was looking at wine and spotted a 2 for £10 offer on a wine I like. So I ordered 10 bottles to stock up.
No discount applied when I checked the order receipt.
As the OPs experience with customer services, so was mine. They have no record of that wine being on offer either now or yesterday.
I could have accidentally added the wrong wine by mistake or similar, but there was definitely one showing as 2 for £10 on the search results I got back.
When I check today, with the same search terms none of the results have a 2 for £10.
They've also cocked up on the "price per" part of the order in that it its £6 but underneath shows £5.50 per 75cl
They've definitely changed at least one wine offer between me ordering and checking today and I'm sure it was my wine.
I bet the offer changed sometime between my search results showing and completing the order.
  • Having checked elsewhere ASDA change their offers in store on Thursdays. I bet Online gets done sometime Wednesday evening, like at the time I was ordering. They should honour the price when you put it in you basket, not at checkout. And of course the customer service guy is going to say "there wasn't an offer on when you checked out" because there wasn't.
There was an offer on 30 minutes before then though.

As you will all probably know, Asda offers regular meal deals and multibuy offers. However, I am sensing sharp practice going on as three times (the latest being today) none of the discounts have been applied. Speaking to Customer Service is a waste of time as they repeatedly say 'there are no multibuys/meal deals on my screen'.

There is either a problem with their website (conveniently in their financial favour) or their overseas agents do not know what a multibuy is (if tbey are searching for it as a product they won't find it of course).

Has anyone else had this problem, and what can we do about it? It's false advertising and very poor business practice. They've certainly lost me as an online customer.
Were you orders all placed on a Wednesday evening by any chance?
  • I tried to take advantage of the 2 for £3 Schloer drinks offer but the discount was not applied even at checkout. On clicking the quantity there is a space for discounts which was zero. ASDA suggested it was my app or pc at fault and it wasn't resolved so I did my shop at Morrisons which worked perfectly.

Agreed its not honest. The problem I found was that it's difficult to speak to anyone in ASDA  Morrisons have a colleague to chat within minutes of calling so started using them regularly.
