As you will all probably know, Asda offers regular meal deals and multibuy offers. However, I am sensing sharp practice going on as three times (the latest being today) none of the discounts have been applied. Speaking to Customer Service is a waste of time as they repeatedly say 'there are no multibuys/meal deals on my screen'.

There is either a problem with their website (conveniently in their financial favour) or their overseas agents do not know what a multibuy is (if tbey are searching for it as a product they won't find it of course).

Has anyone else had this problem, and what can we do about it? It's false advertising and very poor business practice. They've certainly lost me as an online customer.

Shop with Asda pretty much every week and can't say I have ever seen this problem. Where about are you looking for the discount? On my orders the prices still stay the same on each of the items but the discount is applied later.

So if you buy a 3 for 2 for example with each item costing £1, each of the items will show with a cost of £1 in your cart. Then at checkout stage the discounts are applied to the overall total. Here is what mines look like at checkout:

Swoosh, we alternate between Asda and Tesco each week. We have had the multi-buys and meal deals in the past with no drama except on the three occasions mentioned above. Our online receipt is usually like yours i.e. the discount is applied at the end. But not on three occasions and the Customer Services people useless as they deny that these deals exist according to their screens.

You sure your delivery wasn't just past the end of the offer?

Dates will be started on the offer, but discount will be applied on your preliminary invoice.

The final one with correct discount is generated on the day of delivery.

They all do it like this. There are many reasons why they have to do it like that as well so do not expect it to change. (I don't like it either).

No, the offers were definitely in date. There is obviously a glitch in their system.

So take screenshots and fwd on to CS as evidence to support your case.

Or switch to Aldi, much better value.

I don't leave the house except for medical appointments.  Even a cold would finish me off. We must have our food and drink delivered for safety's sake.

Aldi are very secure on click and collect - you don't go in.  You text and tell them which bay you are in, and they bring out, and stand well back - no more risky than being in contact with a delivery man.

That's the experience I have had, and found it fabulous.  However unlike many, I struggle to do a full shop at Aldi and probably do a click and collect once a month at Aldi, to subsidise my main Asda home deliveries.

I haven't had any issues with Asda at all. In fact I think they have  been fabulous throughout the pandemic - and I am grateful they have kept my family fed

Yep, the Asda website is a joke at the moment.

I have to reduce the numbers when putting in the 'trolley' then reduce the numbers again before I pay.

Absolute nightmare buying for a care home at the moment.
