My parents were scheduled to fly with Jet2 9th June. They had an email saying that the refund will go back onto their original payment card. They don’t have that credit card anymore as they booked for these flights originally for June 2020 in Autumn 2019.
I seriously doubt that they aren’t the only ones with this problem. What are Jet2 going to do with them? Will they see if the refund bounces back then contact parents?

Do they still have a credit card with the same company?i.e. did the card just expire and a replacement issued?Or do they no longer have a card with that financial institution?Have your parents tried to contact Jet2?0

YES. There might be a few process steps between cc and Jet2 but contact will ultimately be made back with your parents.
They could be proactive of course and contact Jet2 (although they might be busy for a short while given this recent announcement)

A lot of companies will only refund to original method of payment, but the card company will put it into a holding account and then arrange this to be paid.Some systems will only allow a refund to the original payment method, so it’s the credit card company who need to arrange onward payment.0
