Coverwise - warning

"Thank you for choosing us to provide your travel insurance cover last year.
We're pleased to include an additional month of cover free of charge with your new policy and, although there has been a significant increase in the cost of travel insurance across the market, we have also included a special discount of 10% on last year's price to offer you the best possible value in the coming year."
Firstly, given the travel ban won't be lifted until 17th May at the earliest that means effectively the free month just covers the period between the policy ending and the travel ban being relaxed.
Secondly, they said I have to respond unless I want to buy the new policy, which they will charge to the card I used to buy the current year's policy. (I never opted in to auto renew.)
I contacted them citing that at the time I purchased the policy they were offering better COVID related cover than other insurers but now other insurers are offering competitive products and that other insurers are offering a lot more than one month free to compensate for the time travel has not been possible. They didn't seem interested in offering anything competitive, it seems they are just hoping to get people to buy new policies by not seeing an email, even though they know most of us won't be booking travel in the coming weeks and months.
