Spotify app doesn’t work on Apple Watch series 6

Hello,

I just bought Apple Watch series 6. I have iPhone 11. I have paired the watch and installed the Spotify app, but it doesn’t connect to Spotify. I have uninstalled the app and put it back on a few times. Software is up to date on both devices. How could I fix it?

Have you opened Spotify on your phone? Reinstalled the phone app then opened both at the same time and waited?

So to clarify you have downloaded Spotify on the phone and logged in and is working ok?

Also you add the app to the watch through the watch app on the phone?

The first time you use Spotify on the watch you need to trigger it by playing something using the app on the phone while the app on the watch is open. It will say "play something" on the watch app to indicate that this needs doing.

The Apple watch also needs to be connected to a device to play through - eg Bluetooth headphones / speaker / TV etc or specify play through the phone.

It does work, I use it regularly on a 6 series with XR phone.

It should work, you might have to open Spotify on your phone first then try once again
