Washing machine in the garage

Our washing machine is in the garage without issues. We have insulated the garage as best as we could (in a pretty rudimentary way) too using some polystyrene sheets (about 30mm thick on the doors, and normal insulation in the roof. Its connected to the house so no issues, but you could try run a little radiator in the winter in there if your garage is detached?0

If your kitchen floor isn’t carpeted and on a hard floor, spray a little wd40 just in line with the feet of the washer, then it will slide easier, obviously check that wd40 won’t damage your floor ( it shouldn’t do) , as others have said, make sure the pipe in your garage is lagged and it shouldn’t freeze if done properly, you can buy interlocking floor tiles for use in garages to keep any dropped , clean laundry from having to be rewashed.

When we moved to this house wm and td in the garage. Found it a pain in the neck luckily kitchen ok sized to house them when refitted. If your only option then as long as pipes lagged reasonable use then ok as others a mat in front and use a basket0

I too have my washing machine the garage. It hasn't been a problem in terms of temperature. It is a integral garage and the main door isn't very insulated - gaps around the sides.
The floor was concrete when I moved in so I painted it with floor paint to seal it and I've since put some old carpet down over it from when we had the carpets replaced. Makes it much more pleasant to walk on and use the washing machine0 -
We had our washing machine in the integral garage for quite a while. Plumbed it into the pipe for the “outside tap” which was in the garage. We wimped out of trying to tee the drain into the cast iron soil pipe that came through the garage and instead had the drain pipe coming out through the side wall of the garage and into the gulley outside the kitchen (which also takes waste from the kitchen sink and dishwasher).
Eventually we converted that end of the garage into a proper utility room and WC and teed the waste from the washing machine, new sink and WC into the soil pipe by cutting out a section of cast iron and replacing with plastic.0
