Thank you all for all the help and advice provided by this forum and individual contributors. I have just had a letter from the legal team at Civil Enforcement saying they are discontinuing proceedings, a month before the court date. No indication of why, but I submitted my witness statement on time and they appear not to have submitted anything.5

Good to hear ... this is almost CEL's modus operandi; take claims to the brink and then withdraw when they realise the victim won't simply roll over.
