Damp Caused to Gable end by Neighbours Garage

Hi

I'm in the process of buying a house and the survey has come back with damp on the gable end side.  The neighbour has built a fabricated concrete type garage very close to the gable end with only approximately 3 inch gap.  I don't know for sure but I presume the damp is being caused by the close proximity of the garage against the wall.  The survey also states that the gable end needs re-pointing but this will not be possible to one third of the wall due to the garage.
The question is, do I walk away from this property, apart from the damp/garage issue, I really like it?

Thanks

More to the point, if the garage roof slopes towards the wall, is there a gutter catching the rain water and where's it taking it?
Surely, if there's a gutter, the gap would be more than 3" between the two buildings' walls, though not large enough to access.
If there's no gutter when there should be, the neighbour's property is damaging the one you like, they could be required to sort the situation out, by legal  means if necessary, but whether you want to get into something like that as a new neighbour is up to you. The inability to access the pointing etc would still remain.
