Hi all I have a peugeot 3008 suv car on finance and late last year my car ended up going in for a 8 week repair due to a design flaw. I was refused a car as a replacment due to covid. I told them I was a foster carer an needed a car and they said originally it would be in for a week so I should be able to cope.... 3 weeks later no car and told they were waiting on parts same for week 4, 5 and 6. Finally shaming them on Facebook I was given the smallest huandai i10 for a 6ft man for the final 2 weeks.
So my question is as I was paying for finance on a car I wasn't able to use through no fault of my own am I entitled to compensation from eden peugeot?

If you had to pay for a hire car or other transport then you could ask for your costs to be reimbursed if it was their fault you didn't have access to your own car.
But the fact it is on finance is irrelevant. What matters is what it cost you to get to work while they had your car. It would have also been better to agree that upfront, that if they cannot supply a loan car but the work is urgent then you should have negotiated the cost of a hire car from them upfront.0 -
Most car warranties do not cover a replacement car, that is done to the dealer as a GOGW. Given that most dealers did not have the usual supply of cars available, More often than not these are cars staff use.
You can ask, but be prepared for a NO.Life in the slow lane1
