You will need to contact your lender and explain the situation. Your wife may or may not be able to take over the mortgageIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

It may not be as simple as just removing your name, your wife may need to take out a whole new mortgage so any early redemption penalties could have to be paid, plus payment for the new mortgage product. Assuming she can of course prove she can take on the debt by herself.
