Employment information missing from Self Assessment?

Hi all. I usually file my self assessment return online around October but due to SEISS I wanted to check how that was working on the return I logged in today to see. I also have a PAYE job and on the employed section is normally states my employer and all the relevant information regarding my employed earnings is already entered automatically but today it was asking me to manually submit my employer and figures. I have never had to do this before and I was wondering if this was a change? I haven't received my P60 yet so I can't file the return if I have to enter these figures manually.

Any information appreciated. TIA

Presumably because the information from the employer hasn't been received yet.

If you've not got your P60 from your employer then I'd assume HMRC haven't got your final 20-21 Employment Income details either.

It probably has not yet been processed, it is not always there for everyone straight away at the end of the tax year, the best solution would probably be to wait a few weeks.

When I go to my personal tax account all the employed information is on there so I guess my question is will this update automatically or have they changed the system so you have to enter it manually? Like I said in the first post, I don't usually file my return so early and wait until October time when my business usually gets quiet but last year was so dire its going to be a really simple return to do

As far as I am aware no changes, as mentioned above it is highly likely a processing time issue. I would expect it to update, but not being HMRC I can not guarantee it will. HMRC are also still wading through all the late submissions from last year's self-assessments, preparing for the 4th SEISS grant, so updating this data might be taking a back seat for a few weeks.

Thanks for your replies. I'll leave filing for a while and see if it updates itself. Whilst you are here, I've been on SMP since August, do I have to enter that separately on the return or is that included on the employment pages?

No - SMP is included as taxable pay from your employer. On the other points can you not enter the taxable pay and tax deducted figures from your final payslip in March?

SMP from a PAYE employer? If it was paid via PAYE then it should appear in the employment section as it is paid as part of your employment, but as with all things self-assessment, it is always worth double-checking the figures are correct before you submit it as errors (either your own, or via HMRCs systems) have been know to occur.

Yes it has been paid by my employer. I work self employed as well and with my first baby I was solely self employed and claimed Maternity Allowance but this time I qualified for SMP through my employer and wasn't 100% sure how it would work through self assessment. Thank you all for the help
