Eon issues
Options
I was with Eon and they kept Hiking up our bills. When I queried it they just sent me an estimated bill but it wasn’t right they said we owed them more money. I decided to leave and after a lengthy argument they said we didn’t owe them money they owed us and sent us a cheque in final settlement which was paid into our back account. Roll on 3 months later they then send me a bill for £104 no readings. I queried it and explained the above but they said we owed it and had to pay
Now they are threatening bailiffs but dropped the bill to £74.00
i rang and tried to complain but to no avail I’ve tried resolver
I’m now getting text messages 1.want to fit smart meters 2 I now owe £54. I rang and asked what this new bill was for. I was refused any answer or itemised bill and they wouldn’t say why they were wanting to fit smart meters when we haven’t been with them since October last year
any views please

it is also worth checking that E.oN has used the same reading to close your account as your present supplier to open your account.1 -

I want to assure you that much in the same way customers don't like paying estimated bills, we don't like sending them. It's a necessity when meter readings are not provided but if you have actual meter readings available then we will absolutely always take them and get a bill corrected.
Without seeing your account it's difficult to say, but it sounds like what has happened is that we sent you a refund when we shouldn't have. I.e. it was done before the final bill was produced. It takes a few weeks to receive final readings from your new supplier when you switch so often the final bill is with you a little while after the account closes. So you thought you had settled up but then the final bill came out and you owed a further £54 - then the extra £20 or £50 are late payment fees?
Regardless of what's happened we'll be happy to help in any way we can. It's worth logging in online to check your bills and confirm whether this is a final statement (it will show on the front page of the bill) or just an ongoing statement and you've not actually left?
We're always busy in the day or two after a bank holiday so the start of this week has been a bit hectic. But from today we've got the call wait times down to around 10 minutes if you wanted to check back with us tomorrow. You can also connect via live chat on the 'Contact Us' section of our website.
If you wanted to you can come back to me on here with a bit more context and even a screenshot of your bill if needs be (ensuring you remove any personal info)
Thanks, Matt

I have just changed my energy supplier.I have changed from EON and my new supplier is Peoples Energy.I was £93 in credit at EON and they have told me my final bill is £259.Considering I have a solar panel,an air source pump and I live alone.I was paying EON a £106 a month and my first payment to Peoples Energy was £38.So it looks like EON are ripping people off.0

Hi Asenna, it sounds like your final bill was around £350. It's likely this was for January to April which is admittedly the quarter where we tend to see highest usage. You have concrete evidence there of how much you're using and as we've been your supplier it will be more accurate than a supplier you've just joined.
It'll take you 9 months of paying £38 per month to cover for usage for a bill of this size. Whilst you make now be taking benefit of lower unit rates generally the difference isn't quite this large. So I would recommend double checking your Direct Debit with your new supplier. Your final bill will show your 'Expected annual consumption' and if you provide this information to your new supplier they'll be able to recalculate how much you need to pay.

The lower DD sounds far too low, EON doesn’t rip people off for the sake of it.
they sent accurate bills based on reads proving the customer has given the details.Be happy, it's the greatest wealth0
