It was a dro, not sure if there's a legal practical difference to bankrupt.Wannabedebtfree21 said:
Did you have any issues accessing your account or even money when you were declared bankrupt, if in fact you did declare bankruptcy?James-may said:I got s HSBC basic account
It wasn't affected at all, the account is just like any other account, contactless card etc, but it has no facility for overdraft in it.1 -
Ok thanks James, and how do you find the bank themselves, I am now a little put off from using it after reading endless amounts of negative reviews via Trustpilot........ having said that my current bank, Santander have a very similar ‘poor’ rating and I can’t fault them personally. Always been very helpful.0

I suppose it might depend what you use it for.Wannabedebtfree21 said:Ok thanks James, and how do you find the bank themselves, I am now a little put off from using it after reading endless amounts of negative reviews via Trustpilot........ having said that my current bank, Santander have a very similar ‘poor’ rating and I can’t fault them personally. For me it's a place to pay wages in and pay bills out of.
I use the phone app and have rarely needed to speak to anyone so can't really speak about customer service.
The few times I have visited a physical bank, they have seemed orientated towards businesses rather than individual current account holders, but as I say, Im rarely there.
I did notice that they let you withdraw every penny you have, so if you have 1p in your account, you can withdraw £10, leaving your account £9.99 overdrawn, but they don't charge you for using that.
Not a huge thing, but can be handy if you find yourself very short at end of week one day.1
