My dash light for steering comes on losing power steering. Stop the car- turn egine off- restart. Light off and steering fine. Going to say once a day happening. Recently new battery just before December.
Fluid is top level
At a loss if I should be treating this seriously or just do as I do?

Have you checked the charging voltage?
Are you using the car frequently?0 -
Is it an early BMW mini? They often suffer from corrosion on the pump connectors which will cause the power steering to fail.If the car says Vauxhall on the back it is the EPS controller.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Reveal make and model Buzzard. It might attract better assistance."If the car says Vauxhall on the back it is the EPS controller."Which would mean there's no fluid level to check?

Mazda 3, mini, a few focuses, and some astras is about it. Fluid level could be anything
You knew where you were with proper power steering, unless you corroded through a hose it just worked as long as the fluid didn't run out through a seal.EPS has too much to go wrong for my liking.
