Child Trust Fund - my child now lives abroad

Hi,
My child turned 18 and now lives abroad (Sweden). When she turned 18 she was given an option to either have her CTF transferred to her UK bank account or receive a cheque.
She did not have a UK bank account and was informed the CTF could NOT be transferred to her Swedish bank account so a cheque was posted to her in Sweden
Sweden ceased use of cheques ages ago so she could not cash in or deposit the cheque.
Because of Brexit UK banks we have contacted have been reluctant to let her open an account while resident outside the UK.
Can someone please advise what she can do... can she cash in her CTF cheque (post Covid travel restrictions) in a bank account without having a UK address?
Thanks

If she contacted the CTF provider and explained her difficulty, I wonder would that provider consent
to cancelling the cheque and accepting her written authority to make an electronic transfer to your UK
bank account?
You could then transfer the cash to her account in Sweden.
