BACS payment sent before bank holiday weekend

Hi, I was told on my journal that a BACS payment was sent Wednesday 31st March, (A LCWRA backpayment) I was told it was sent at 11.45am.
They said that due to the bank holiday weekend I would receive it Tuesday 6th April.. I haven't received anything yet now the 7th.
My usual monthly payments all hit just after midnight so I'm assuming today is going to be a non-event..
Does anyone have an idea of when I'm likely to receive the payment, or how the long bank holiday weekend effects the timescale?
Can a BACS payment clear at anytime of the day?
I want to start chasing it but don't want to chase too early and look too impatient although UC told me Tuesday.. Any advice would be 👌 thanks

A BACS payment processed on the Wednesday 31/03 would have cleared into the bank account it was sent to on Thursday 01/04. Where some confusion might come in would be if it was sent for processing, some payments are batched up, batches sent and then submitted to the bank a day or two later, although I do not know if that is how LCWRA payments are operated.
If I were you I would query it.1 -
I thought it was a 3 day thing, should it of gone in before the long bank holiday weekend then?
Today should be the 4th day :S
Could it come at any point in the day?0 -

That being said it should have arrived by now.1 -

You need to call benefits agency and speak to someone. Messages can take ages to reply too.Life in the slow lane1 -
Hi, I was told on my journal that a BACS payment was sent Wednesday 31st March, (A LCWRA backpayment) I was told it was sent at 11.45am.BACs are not real time. Also the point it is signed off on for payment isn't necessarily the same as when the bank actually got the transaction.
However, lets say they did submit it on Wednesday. For most banks it would have arrived on the third working day which is Tuesday. Some banks/building societies add an extra day which would be Wednesday.
Automated payments arrive before the banks open. So, it wouldn't turn up in the middle of the day. If its not there when you wake up, it wont arrive later in the day. Only paper based transactions do that.Could they of lied? Could the bank be holding it?Unlikely they are telling lies. Its more likely that someone is seeing a date/time on the system the payment was authorised and is assuming its the same time the transaction was processed.
The bank wont be holding it. Its electronic. No manual work involved unless sort code/account number is wrong. And who now am I calling, the bank or UC?UC. The bank cant trace a payment that they have not received.

Just to add that BACS credits are done overnight, if it's not in the account by 9am on a working day, it's not coming in that day.1

*sighs* there is some misinformation in this thread (along with some helpful stuff).
- A Bacs payment submitted on 31 March will not be credited to the receiving customer the next day. (Unless you have a special deal like with Monzo and it's your salary and you've been credit checked)
- Most Bacs payments will land on your account by 7am. It is the norm for them to be processed mostly in overnight batches. The actual time varies by bank. Very rarely it can be after 9am, but this probably means there was a processing problem on the receiving side.
- It's highly unlikely a bank is responsible for any delay. As others have said, it's probably delays on the submission side - some organisations etc. only send, for example, files in once a week. Of there could have been errors when submitting the files.
- You may want to check they have your correct details. There are also (although unusual) some accounts which can't receive certain types of payments.
The super authoritative guide to processing dates is https://www.bacs.co.uk/documentlibrary/bacs_processing_calendar_2021.pdf (and it includes specific details for Easter 2021 on the second page).1 -
Thanks guy I appreciate the replies, I have been a bit busy to update!
So, after hours yesterday on the phone multiple times to UC it turned out that whoever sanctioned the payment on the 31st didn't do it properly, it was then seen by my UC case manager, he then re-sent the payment for approval, thus, the date of the 6th given, is when i should of received.
Unbelievably that attempt also failed for them (giant pain in the backside that nobody notified me, just left it to me to chase) they then sent the payment for today with faster payment and I received the payment today!
All is resolved, hope the thread helps someone who is dealing with UC... check and check again!!!
Thanks guys1
