Hi,
my car was impounded today after a Penalty Charge Notice was issued.

This is the first time I received a Penalty Charge Notice and according to Newham
Borough parking enforcement information, they only impound your vehicle if you’re either parked somewhere which is causing a serious danger/hazard/obstruction (which mine wasn’t, it was street parking) or if you’re a repeat offender, so someone with at least 3 outstanding Penalty Charge Notices with one of the 3 escalated to the warrant stage.

Unless the neighbours have removed the previous PCN’s then as far as I’m concerned this was my first and only PCN so any ideas why they would impound my car? Surely I’d have received enforcement letters or reminders to pay via post if I was issued previous PCN’s?
I’ve made an SAR to the DVLA asking about who has enquired about my vehicle but I’m not expecting a response any time soon. Really confused about why they’d impound my vehicle for simply having an invalid permit. The cost of the PCN is £80, halved to £40 if paid within the allocated period.

Any ideas anyone?
Thanks in advance

As this is council , join pepipoo fightback forums using a non Hotmail email address and post in the council section there after reading the posting requirements over there
This mse forum mainly deals with private PCN s3 -
You need to appeal the PCN and contest the towaway cost after you get the car back.
Pepipoo will help you but you have a tight deadline so forget the SAR.
Go to pepipoo:

No HOTMAIL emails allowed there and DON'T post on that forum without pics of the place you parked and the paperwork, PCN, all pages, all sides. Read some threads first to get the hang of what to show and what sort of advice they give in towaway cases.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
