Credit Card Rewards

They changed it a couple of years ago- with the exception of the platinum plus Avios card if you hold or have held pretty much any Amex in the past couple of years there is no bonus. The days of rotating the different types every 6 months or so are gone.Sandtree said:

Intro bonuses from AmEx are by type so if you have a MR card you can still get an Avios or cash back or anything else.
Two large expenses can instead be seen as two different sets of 3 months of normal spending to hit bonuses. So get two cards and get two bonuses. Unfortunately fundamentally they want to create a behaviour of common use and so even the likes of the AmEx Platinum Chargecard pays out after "only" £4k of spend

UK is dire for rewards. Go with AMEX. It's the best bang for the buck.0

I’m not so sure any more. I guess it depends on what schemes you’re into.Malkytheheed said:UK is dire for rewards. Go with AMEX. It's the best bang for the buck.
The HSBC Premier WE card is great for Avios, Singapore Airlines and Etihad points. Also Amazon, Sainsbury’s and M&S. It’s well underrated. Capital on Tap is also good for Avios. For cashback some of the crypto debit cards offer favourable rates and if you’re really keen, cards with retailer cashback rewards can be great.
Truth be told I’ve barely used my Amexes for a while - Visa and MC cards are where it’s at at the moment.0 -
