Wren Kitchen and Compensation Dispute

I have had six months of constant problems following delivery of my new Wren kitchen. They have now offered to replace the frontals of the kitchen, due to the gloss failing and to pay me £2500 compensation. I am paying for the kitchen with finance arranged by Wren through Barclay Partner Finance. Due to problems caused by the Wren fitter I now need some repair work doing to my home and want to use the compensation money, however, Wren have said that they will only pay my compensation to Barclays not me (due to a banking rule) and as the arrangement with Barclays cannot be changed I cannot reduce my monthly payments, the amount will just be paid against my loan and will mean that the finance will be paid off earlier, as the last £2,500 of payments will already have been paid for.
Given that the compensation is for the inconvenience caused by constant problems, work needing to be done twice and not having a finished kitchen after 6 months, I don't think the compensation should have anything to do with Barclays and I should be able to do what I want with the compensation.
Has anyone heard of this banking rule and can I demand the compensation to be paid to me?
Thanks

You can ask, but I don't think you have any legal right to "demand".If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

Why don't you get a quote for the cost of the repair work, then ask for this money to be deducted from the compensation, and have them come and repair whatever needs repairing?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
I am guessing because Barclays own the kitchen that’s were any compensation would go.0
