Selling Car Privately

Hi there
Im selling my vehicle privately however foolishly I cancelled road tax and insurance on the vehicle when I bough my new one.
I’m sure anyone wanting to buy my car will want to test drive it... does this mean I need to re tax and insure my car?
If so... can I do both for a short period?
Thanks a lot

Yes. Your insurer for the new one will add the old one for a few weeks fairly cheaply.

Some will by without driving, ie just start up, move forwards, backwards on drive, job done.
Get them to sign a bit of papers, dated and timed just in case they get done for speeding/etc - on the paper ensure you say bought as seen and tested.
