Booking agent are holding my refund, what can I do?

My flights to Istanbul were cancelled due to Coronavirus. Eventually Pegasus (airline) paid the refund but they paid it to Opodo (the booking agent). Opodo have sent me a receipt of this, after much demanding, but they have still not paid me the refund and they received it over six weeks ago, what can I do? Phoning them seems to make no difference...……..

Search this site and Trip Advisor's Air Travel forum to understand the problems with Opodo.  Booking with this Spanish based online ticket seller was a poor booking choice.

Did Opodo not give you any timelines for when they may furnish the refund? I suspect you will just have to show patience and allow them to catch up in their backlog.  They will be in little hurry and won't prioritise this activity in what I expected is a stretched and under resourced business at this time.

Be prepared that Opodo may deduct an administrative fee for processing your refund.  This likely something in their T&C's which you signed up to.

Please avoid them in future. Either book the simple flight direct with the airline at https://www.flypgs.com/ - or use a reputable UK based travel agency.

Your only real choices are to:

- Wait until they eventually get round to it (if they've sent you a receipt of refund from the airline I assume they have said they will process a refund?)
- Try your card provider (chargeback or Section 75 - you may or may not be eligible for either)
- Try legal action (as a non-UK based company that will prove difficult)
