Nationwide changed my preferences without permission.
However

On 31st March, Nationwide changed my Credit Card statement preference from paper to paperless. First I knew was when I got an email announcing my statement was available online. When I queried why and how this had happened without my knowledge or permission, Nationwide unapologetically and without further explanation informed me that it was done automatically 'by the system'. So that's all right then?
I was able to change the preference back again, but that's hardly the point. I noticed that my current account preference hadn't been changed in the same way.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks EssexExile, my search didn't find it. So, it's some sort of corporate policy change? If so, it's discourteous of them not to inform me of that - I receive their newsletters and I see no mention of this. If not, something is going wrong with Nationwide's Admin systems. I suspect the latter, because only my Credit Card preference was changed; my Current Account preference remained 'paper'.Nothing to do with you of course but the standard of comment of that thread was very poor. How aggressively compliant some people seem to be! Some very strange responses to a perfectly reasonable posting by the OP.0

i received my latest statement by post with letter saying that nwide had changed to account to paperless - it was a simple matter to use the app to change to paper again.
yes i care about the environment and so have committed to eat one fewer burgers a year which will offset the carbon emissions of the statements1 -
Would have been more convincing if you had mentioned the tree you planted, to replace the one you had destroyed for your paper statements 👆pbartlett said:
