Chainsaw won’t self oil

Can you run it with the bar on but the chain off and see if the oil is coming out ?danrv said:

Use proper chainsaw oil.
Available from the likes of Toolstation etc.
Car engine oil is NOT suitable.

The oil is coming out ok and the chain bar hole is clear so there’s no reason for the oil not to be lubricating the chain.
It’s just that it’s a subtle delivery of oil into the groove.
