Cleaning new house prior to date of completion

I’m moving property, but the house has already been vacated and has been left dirty. (Likely that previous owners were elderly). Can I arrange a professional cleaning company to visit the house before I move in? Thank you!

If the sellers agree, yes. But it's not a normal thing to do. Can't you just get it cleaned after completion?2

If it’s vacant, and it’s just cleaners going in, I’d agree to that if I were the sellers.
Is there an estate agent with keys? They may just let the cleaners in, without consulting the sellers.Anyway, you’ve got my permission, and David’s. Now, all you need is for the sellers to agree. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?8 -
As above, as a seller I would have been OK with that as long as direct contact between a professional cleaning company and myself i.e. I wouldn't let a rando in to clean, but I would be fine with a professional company since they have no horse in the race other than to get things clean.

I would agree as long as you've exchanged on the property.1

If you haven't exchanged yet you could ask your solicitors to ask the vendors solicitors for a Key Undertaking, explaining you would like to be able to get the property clean before you move in. You wont be allowed to move any furniture in or anything but you may be allowed a key for cleaning. We have just done this.1

How dirty is the house? You have to agree when selling that the house will be left in a clean and condition. I appreciate all cleaning standards are different but if it’s dirty enough to necessitate a cleaner then surely this is something you can flag up?!0

Personally I’d wait and just plan the cleaners for the day after you move in.May just be me but I’d imagine my cleaners knocking a pipe and flooding the place on a house i didn’t own yet 🤣April 2020 - £102,222 Loans/CC’s.
