Mr S and I had the A-Z and were both fine.  Just the way your body reacts, I suppose.

Of course I was a lot younger then, but during our first week or so of WRAF training we all had to line up with our left sleeves rolled up.  I knew what was coming - tetanus, yellow fever and a couple more that have slipped my memory.  I was fine, apart from a slightly sore arm, but a handful of girls spent a couple of days in bed.  Including the one who had fainted at the sight of the needles and knocked herself out when her head hit the floor.

I remember that quite well. Doctor and 2 nurses do the 3 in the top of your arm then forward to a table where a pair of med admins gave you a further shot in each arm, followed by a gym session.

I am a vaccinator at a MVC in Wales, side effects depends on how your body reacts to the vaccine.
It’s quite common to develop a fever after any vaccination.

Most of these are mild and short term.

    • tenderness, swelling and/or redness at the injection site
    • headache or muscle ache
    • joint pain
    • chills
    • nausea or vomiting
    • feeling tired
    • fever
    • Another possible side effect is swollen glands in the armpit or neck, on the same side as the arm where you had the vaccine. (This can last for upto 7 days and commonly seen in women in age brackets of 20 - 35)
None of these side effects would not last more than 48hrs, the max is 7 days.

Every vaccine reacts differently, Like all vaccines, COVID-19 Vaccines can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Most side effects are mild or moderate and go away within a few days of appearing. If side effects such as pain and/or fever are troublesome, they can be treated by medicines for pain and fever such as paracetamol.
