Hi I just wanted to make you aware that on Thursday someone said they was from the DWP called and asked me to clarify a few questions on my sons new claim for PIP he is currently on DLA but is 16 now . I said I didn't have time as i was running late and he said it will only take a few moments . 35 minutes later and after a barrage of questions on everything . He said he had all the info he needed. I then asked what would happen next and he said he would do a report then send it to the DWP so he wasn't from them just doing a report on there behalf before i could say anything else he thanked me for my time and hung up . I now now that this was an assessment. I am so cross with my self as I was not expecting the call and didn't answer questions as fully as I could of as I needed to get of the phone quick as I had a elderly relative food shopping in my car and they live a bit of a drive away and I was already late .
I had no letter saying that an assessment was going to take place, I had submitted the form back in October and had heard nothing until this call but didn't chase it up as I know there are huge back logs with claims . I have no idea who he was , which company he worked for ( although another user has given me a link to try and find out ) I'm not my sons appointee yet he didn't ask to speak to my son at all . All i know is that he is going to do a report based on the little information I gave on an assessment I didn't know was happening until it was over. Just be careful folks if you don't have time to fully answer questions don't be tricked like I was. when they say that it will only take a few moments and its just a quick call as that's what they told me .

Blimey, you sent the forms back in October. Mine (on DLA and decided to apply to PIP) went in early December so I am at 18 weeks now (23 from first applying), looks like I may have a while further to wait yet then.0
