Screenwash

I have never bother with screenwash and just use water, but I have just been given a £5 voucher to use online so I'm planning to get some screenwash for my car.

Should I empty the water tank ? If so what is the easiest way on doing so?

I'm looking at ready mixed for simplicity, looking at the price it would appear the colder it is the best.

Is the -1 be good enough?

Where are you in uk?  I would always put in -15 in winter and 0 in the summer months.  Are you likely to still get frost now?

Compared with water yes. Crack on don’t bother emptying it, go a bit crazy with use for a few days and then just top up with the wash.

Would you wash your dishes in plain water, without any washing up liquid?

Using screenwash is the same situation. Think about what gets thrown up from the road surface by the tyres of other vehicles...

No, you don't need to empty the washer bottle. If you use ready-mix, it'll be a bit weak to start with if you add it to a bottle of neat water.

As far as temp goes, at this time of year, there might be a frost or two ahead, but not much. The anti-freeze side kicks in come winter. Nothing worse than sitting on a motorway in dry weather, with filth being thrown up from a slightly damp road by other people's tyres, drying on your windscreen, and your washers don't work because they've frozen. How badly you need extreme low temperature depends on where your car's nozzles are for windchill, and whether engine heat thaws the pipework and bottle. I've had cars that have been TERRIBLE for freezing at the slightest provocation, and ones that I never had an issue at all.

You should use it when you need to. No more or less than that. When cleaning the windscreen will help improve your vision...

Personally I tend not to buy ready mixed unless I have to, after all your paying for water, I just buy a concentrate and mix my own...
