Amend and update submitted R40?

Hi. Is there any way to Amend and update submitted R40 form? I have since received additional information on my PPI claim, and some of the details on the R40 are incorrect and I need to change them.  As the tax office is now closed till Tuesday 6th April, can I still change the form if I phone them on that date, or is it too late? Thanks

  • I don't think you can amend your R40 online.

What tax year does this relate to?

2016-2017 so panicking now. Is there an email address for this dept that I can send the amendments to?
  • I don't think HMRC do email.

But nearly two and a half years ago you had a thread about a 2016:17 tax refund and said,
Thank you everyone for all of your advice. It’s all sorted now.

What's just changed now in relation to the 2016:17 tax year?

You should be able to submit a full form online via their government portal I think.    Easter bank holidays doesnt stop that I think

HMRC do, indeed, 'do' email. I had quite a lengthy correspondence with them last year and also was able to send them some screenshots I'd taken. I had contacted them through my online account initially.

Yes, that's true. I have just submitted one myself. It's not as straightforward as I'd anticipated but it's gone now. Phew.
