Amazon not refunding or returning my goods

Hi all,
I purchased some computer hardware from Amazon which I returned unopened and security sealed.
Amazon claim that I have returned the wrong item and therefore won’t refund me. I have asked for the item to be returned to me (even at my own cost) but they are refusing. I am receiving the same response no
matter what department/person I speak with.
Can anyone advise where I stand legally with this or if I am covered by any consumer rights act. Ideally I do not want to have to do a chargeback as I have lots of media on Amazon which I will lose access to.
TIA

Although anyone can make a mistake, including Amazon, it looks like they have not received the correct item back.
Equally, it seems like you are certain that you did post the correct item
The only logical conclusion is that someone, somewhere has swapped things and that you are the victim of a crime
As with all crimes, there is no 'compensation' unless you can find out the perpetrator.0 -
