Hi
I have deleted what I would do.
Have you never made a 110 / 230 step up transformer for powering 220 v electric motors on a Construction site?
I have done 2.
As to AC capacitors, well I worked with quite a few. The Simu motor range would fit an AC capacitor of differing values to vary the 'power' from as low as a 504 upto a 535 for loads of 4 kg upto 35 Kg. Also to polarise the circuit to give rotational direction.
Anyway...
"Capacitors in fluorescent light fittings are used on the AC line to correct power factor and have no ability to provide brown out protection."
True or not, Dunno.
BUT I have come across AC capacitors with a shorting resistor to ensure a quick dis-charge after the removal of the mains circuit, so that they do not store a residual charge that would hold up during a brown-out.

Thank you
I'll stand down now even though I'd love to address your further points in greater detail but we have strayed too far off the topic for the purposes of this thread.
I have a degree in applied physics and electronics so I hope you can trust my input about AC / capacitors etc as being technically correct and I would be happy to answer your questions in a new thread if you wish.1 -
@Headtheadvice
The voltage trace was from an inbuilt feature . The log also gives a record including a below 80v error message. The unit does not go completely off line - just that part which processes the incoming signal. The usual technique of switch it off and back on does not work.

Understood @Robin9. I would hope that UPS I linked to would meet their approval amd it is a very good price.@ann_droid. Good of you to delete your post. I am fully in agreement with @[Deleted User]. I have reported your post only because of the advice given being dangerous for those who might just follow it blindly. I appreciate your intention was good and hope there is no offence taken.2
