Excluded SEISS - When will I know if now Included following March 2021 budget?

Hi all, I a newbie and apologies if someone already asked this Q, I had a look but couldn't find.  I moved from employed to Self employed in the 2019/2020 tax year and was excluded.  Wondering if I shall now be included as been s/e since then?  if so when & how will I know I am now included and also how calculated?

Did you submit a 19/20 tax return on time?
  • Did you submit a 19/20 tax return on time?   It wasn't on time but submitted in the new "window" that was given to everyone back in 2020, was in, in that time frame.  Sorry I unsure how to reply to messages, hope this works

    The old window isn't relevant.

Did you submit your tax return before March 3rd 2021?

Was your self emp profit more than your employment income for the 19/20 tax year?  If not, you'll be excluded under the 50-50 rule.
  • Hi, I started self-employment in the same tax year as you and submitted my tax return after Christmas. I got a letter from HMRC to confirm my eligibility by sending ID and proof of trading to them via a Dropbox link w/c 15/03. The process is complicated and drawn out. I know they are not writing to everyone and I think you will get a letter/email from them inviting you to apply from mid April. Hope you manage to get on the list. It's been tough for us newly self-employed...
