Gas meter exchange- access to home

We will be getting our gas meter exchanged. It’s an apartment with an electric stove. The water heater and furnace are in the laundry room. Is there a reason they would need to come to the apartment?

If you have no gas appliances in the apartment, no gas fire etc. then no, they should not need to enter the apartment.
They will need someone available at home though to confirm all that.

Apartment is a flat. Electric stove is an oven/cooker. Furnace is a boiler. Laundry room a utility room??

I usually spend half my time in Texas so I didn't even notice the use of language, my brain just translates into English automatically :)
