Morrisons More card changes
"What if I do not have a smartphone or an online account?
You will still be able to scan your physical More card at the checkout, so we can tailor your promotions to you, however to take part in the promotions you will need to use your More App on your mobile phone or create an online account. Dont worry if you don't have a smartphone we will send you an email with your weekly offers, you can then login to your online account and activate the offers you like, these offers will be loaded directly to you card. So all you need to do in store is swipe your card."

Whoever wrote that obviously did not read it back! If you don't have an online account just go to your online account! Doh!Grumpysally said:Just been looking at the FAQs on Morrisons website. It seems once the changes to the card scheme take place, anyone who does not have Internet access will be unable to take advantage of it. I should imagine that will mean a great deal of elderly people, like my parents, who have neither, will lose out."What if I do not have a smartphone or an online account?

I don't find it all that surprising. Whilst there are some people who can't cope with the internet or don't choose to it is a declining number and the better deals and offers will be available for those who go online. It's the way of the world and will accelerate in the next 5 years.1

No. If you don't already have an online account you "create an online account". The good thing is, you don't have to buy a smartphone.Le_Kirk said:

But you still need to have internet access and not everyone does.0

That's true but I was responding to the "Doh!" comment that Morrisons had not proof read what they wrote because it was being interpreted as "if you don't have an online account, go to that online account" whereas it was saying "if you don't have an online account, create one".Grumpysally said:But you still need to have internet access and not everyone does.1 -
If an elderly relative does have an issue I do believe they can e-mail them or alternatively contact them via twitter or Instagram.

Which the relative can't do as they don't have internet.lemondrops69 said:If an elderly relative does have an issue I do believe they can e-mail them or alternatively contact them via twitter or Instagram.

At the end of the day I doubt if Morrisons will worry too much if they miss out on a few sales of Horlicks or Tena lady, they'll be after the families with more disposable income I imagineMovingForwards said:

I do have a smartphone, and I spend a lot of money in Morrisons (400+ a month) but I’m stopping using my More card for this reason. I don’t like using apps for loyalty cards (the Boots app is a particularly godawful example of this, it never works when I need it to and I always end up having to get my receipt validated) It seems like too much hassle to start messing around with emails and stuff.I’m of the tech savvy generation but I’m not keen on this one. My husband doesn’t have a smartphone, he has access to the internet as we have home WiFi but he’s not able to use it because of disability. He’s not elderly (he’s only 50) but he said the same as me, it’s a bit of a daft idea.*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200

I don't know where Morrisons got their customer opinions on the More card from, but I'm building up the points I already have to retrieve my money voucher and knocking my shopping trips to Morrisons on the head.
It appears that the new Morrisons system will be similar to Lidl's and you've just got to hope the deals they give you are appropriate to your usual buying requirements.
Such a shame they've ALLEGEDLY listened to Morrisons customers and changed it to suit them.1
