PayPal Credit - Protection?

Hello
I hope someone can advise me - I purchased a laptop from an online supplier for my daughter that cost £499.99, they were offering PayPal credit to pay off in payments interest-free which is the option I took. The laptop arrived but was faulty and after going through their tech support they asked me to return the laptop, they arranged for the collection I followed all their instructions and the laptop was collected on 19th Feb 21. I allow some time to go by, and ask if I am getting a replacement or refund - I wanted a replacement, but they were still waiting for this to be processed. So waited a bit longer, back and forwards with customer support who finally tell me they are waiting on information from the courier. They also advised me not to open a Paypal dispute. All the resolution days were passing so I did open a Paypal dispute. I supplied all the information, then I get a message yesterday saying that the supplier will give me a full refund if I return the laptop - which is impossible as I have already returned it. I explained this in my response and I am awaiting the next stage. So after all my long post will I be protected? Sorry for the long post but I am really worried about it.

Yes it sounds like you’ll be fine. Provide the tracking number for the return if you can to prove that it was returned.
Well done for opening a case, they were probably trying to stall you until it was too late to open one.1
