Installation trouble ATI 9500 PRO

I was given an ATI Radeon 9500 Pro graphics card a while ago and as it's raining I decided would have a go at fitting in. I put the card in and turn on the PC but it tells me the card needs to be powered up. I can see there is a connector on the board but I haven't got a lead. I have looked on the ATI web site and it confirms the card needs powering but I can't find out what the connections are. It looks like the cable for the floppy drive but I don't fancy trying it out and frying the card. Can anyone help me out

My 9800 had a hard disk driver power connector, maybe they used a floppy connector on the 9500 but I'm not sure.

This one shows a floppy connector. You don't use your floppy do you :-)

  • Thanks, I wasn't sure if it was wired the same as the floppy connector. I have a floppy drive in there but I'm not even sure if it works

Like most folk nowadays, just unplug it and attach to the 9500 if it will reach, you may need to snip a cable tie or two, make sure the cables don't touch any case or card fans.
