    No.
    Software issues are almost always not covered under warranty, as one can install heaven only knows what from anywhere.  All that will happen with the iPad is it'll be reset and sent back to you and you may be charged.
  • Expensive when paid £349 only 18months ago! 
    I did actually buy this from Apple store also paid by credit card, my last iPad lasted over 10 years, only updated because it wasn’t compatible with some apps, wish I hadn’t bothered now!

    I probably should have added if the software issue was caused by a hardware issue (faulty chip or something like that) it'll probably be covered.
    Otherwise if its had a software issue that was caused by an app you installed (from the Store or elsewhere) and it broke the operating system, that is probably not covered.
