Skip left in drive

Hi
I'm completing on my house this week (woo hoo) and just been informed by vendors that there might be a skip in the drive if the skip company isn't able to pick it up in time (apparently they're very busy!). I've said okay (because there's not really anything that can be done about it) and there is still space to get my car on the drive, albeit, it will be in the way of the skip lorry if it comes to collect it ...
Just wondering what your thoughts were on this situation - i'm concerned i might get a ticket if I leave car on road as it's permit holder only for certain times of the day ... just feel a little annoyed that they couldn't have got it organised better but they're great people and I'm sure it was just an oversight.
Thanks in advance

You wont get a ticket because you also just told us there is still space to park on your drive.
But at the end of the day they're great people!Feb 2008, 20year lifetime tracker with "Sproggit and Sylvester"... 0.14% + base for 2 years, then 0.99% + base for life of mortgage...base was 5.5% in 2008...but not for long. Credit to my mortgage broker5 -
There's enough to worry about moving house without worrying about little things that don't matter (especially if it's only a thing that might possibly happen). Assuming it's not impeding access to the house, and you're confident it will be collected at some point, I wouldn't worry about it at all. Sounds like the vendors just under-estimated the lead time for arranging to get it collected.

At least they are getting rid of all their rubbish !! Free skip you can add too !!3

A skip left? GREAT!
Means you can get shot of all the junk that's inevitably going to get binned in the unpacking and first few weeks...
And, best of all, once it's piled sky-high, you can just shrug when they come to collect it and say "Not us. It was the people we bought the place from..."17 -
My thoughts exactly Adrian!!0

My biggest dread with these skip companies is that if they go bust you will be left with a hulking skip and the rubbish in it. You might find that is why it is left uncollected.
Sadly the only way to get rid of a skip full of rubbish, is to hire a bigger skip and skip the skip and its contents, but therein lies the problem of what to do if the other skip is not collected. But fear not you can go on doing this until you get to the RORO skips and then you might need to hire the services of a grab lorry and some people with grinders/oxy torches to cut the skips up.
Alternatively you can accept the skip to be a permanent fixture until nature takes its course and rusts it away!4 -

Worked for a waste company - if the skip is overloaded they may not take it until it’s levelled & safe to move.If the skip was paid in advance for a certain type of waste but contains something else - again they may want further payment before lifting.Don’t be tempted to add your household waste (rubbish, mattresses, paint cans or other hazardous liquids, or electrical items)!!4

thank you for helpful replies - i was really just throwing it out there in case i had missed something or there was something i should be aware of - like the skip being paid for already etc. Thats what's so great about this forum :-)0

There ain't no way Joe Average would get a skip delivered without paying for it up front...6
