The Dead Forest - Deployed to deter pooping cats

The Dead Forest.
Deployed to protect the seedlings from the local cats pooping and raking until the plants are big enough to defend themselves. The only solution that seems to be working for me at the moment. I had to keep tightening the defensive grid until there is no room for a cat's bottom. I watched one carefully wind around the sticks before looking me in the eye as it did its business. So there is continuous improvement if there are any incursions.
I've tried a motion detecting robot noise and light generator (went off too often and annoyed the neighbours), garlic and tea tree smelling cat scatter (didn't seem to deter), defensive smelly plants (the scardy cat plants failed to deter and died, and one of the cats pooped right on top of the lavender).

I filled any spaces with upright dead woody plants (wallflower) so the sticks pointed upwards and sideways. Any spaces left with pebbles, largish ones.
That seemed to do the trick but you've got a huge area.

Hiya, not sure if it works but a rumour went around my work that putting coffee grounds down works and failing that maybe orange peel?  I emphasise "rumour" and you might want to investigate that yourself.

Being a crazy cat lady with one moggy then I am on the other side of the fence and apologise if it's my cat and you're my neighbour 😸, sorry, I'll scrub the laughing cat emoji and replace it with... 🙀.  I know how awful cat fowling is 🐈
Just my opinion, no offence 🐈

I love cats, and they are only doing their natural thing, I just need to persuade them to do it somewhere else  :)
The problem wasn't just the pooping though, it was the raking afterward as they like to be tidy and cover it up, but that's not good news for the little seedlings.
Long term plan is to get more plants in there that will stick around. When I moved into this house, it was thick with Ivy and bullish weeds like Green Alkanet, which made an impenetrable barrier. I cleared it back, but am thinking now why the previous occupants might have left the greenery to do that.

I caught my neighbour's cat successfully fowling. As it is white all the pigeon blood showed up well!  I've caught the same cat fouling my vegetable raised bed but backs away when it sees me at the kitchen door. I completely confuse the poor cat by being completely friendly when I pop round to the neighbour's..:-)

Much like me. I love cats :-) My neighbours cats are 'house cats' but she keeps them locked in for weeks as she seldom goes out then lets them out and they head for my car roof and garden spraying my front door and carpet. They are obsessed and not friendly at all. Disfunctional and screwed up much like their owner
Unfortunately for some reason they draw half a dozen other neighbourhood cats to this little cul de sac.
I've had to barricade the garden against them though that's worked well for my climbers.
I've worked on the garden it's just the roof of the car. Had my last one ruined by cat claws.
My last part time neighbours cat was lovely, sweet clever and beautiful manners. I've been trying to persuade her to my new place.

I do something similar in the front garden every year, but this year promises to be fun because there is a holly tree growing in an inaccesible place between our garages that may be accesible later on the year. Guess what I'll be doing with it?

Defences upgraded following latest cat attack. Arnold Mk II deployed. If this doesn't work, I may have to upgrade to the model with laser cannons!

Am wondering if there is an idea for a TV game show here where cats navigate obstacle courses to find somewhere to poop. Plenty of other concepts possible too, like Poop My Ride, Crap in the Attic and Strictly Come Pooping
