Indoor sensor light

Hi - apologies if this is a really silly question but it's one of those questions that's really hard to google!
We've had a sensor light fitted in our downstairs toilet. The "LUX" setting is set to max but the light doesn't come on until dusk. As it's not in a very well lit position within the house, we'd like it to come on regardless of light conditions.
Is there such a thing as a sensor light that doesn't depend on light conditions and it just comes on when motion is detected? If so, is there a name/phrase I can use to look it up on the web?
Thanks

Can you not just turn down the lux setting to minimum?0

The lux setting is a half-moon shape on one end and a sun on the other. The manual says keep turning clockwise towards the sun until the light comes on but it doesn't come on until dusk.0

Humour me...Try it the other way!1

lol funny - the manual was correct but it seems that turning it all the way counter-clockwise and then all the way clockwise has now done the job!!
Thanks!2
