Contactless ATMs

Hi, I left my card at home one day and had heard that I could use my iPhone to withdraw cash at some ATMs but couldn’t find one .... anyone know please?

Some Barclays ATMs allow contactless withdrawals, but only for Barclays customers.

Who do you bank with? 

Barclays have contactless options at some of their ATM’s, but it appears you need to be a Barclays customer for it to work, and will only work with Android phones. 

I have noticed contactless options on Santander ATM’s in the past, but there doesn’t seem to be any information about it on Santander’s website about how it works and what it works with.

NatWest have a scheme where you can get cash out without the card using their app if you bank with them. You generate a code through their app. Then go a NatWest or RBS branded Atm to withdraw the cash.

Does whoever you were going to pay cash to accept payment via Apple Pay?

I know with Santander. You still needed your card to tap on the atm, then you had to enter your PIN. So all you saved was putting your card in the slot.
Do not even know if it would work with Apple/Google pay anyway. Best guess would be NO.

Go to a retailer that does cash back, buy something cheap, ask for cash back and use your iPhone.

No eskbanker I needed cash ... and TB I’ve asked in a couple of shops and they said I physically needed to put a card in the slot and enter my pin ...

Do not forget that Apple Pay is contactless. It is very unusual to get cashback on contactless transactions.

Daily Express reported this in 2016. But it does say "Soon"....

Only after half way through does it mention it's USA only....
