Condensation in windows, replacing seals

Hi all
our double glazed windows are getting condensation between the glass, we had them installed back in 96 so they are quite old,
has anyone any experience with these companies that just replace the seals..?, or would we be better having a complete new window..?( it’s quite large so would be expensive, I think)...
thanks..

They are sealed units so if you are getting condensation in between the layers they have blown and will need replaced.0

I think you'll find just replacing the glazed units isn't as expensive as you might think, compared to replacing the whole window. A local glazing firm or handyman should be able to help (rather than the big national companies who'll just want toflog you new windows).

I suspect that's what Alan is referring to - replacing the whole D-G sealed unit as opposed to the complete window. What condition are the windows in, Alan? Do the openers work well? Do they seal shut effectively? And the black rubber blade seals against the glass - are they clean and not perished? If all good, then get a Mr Misty (or what was that other company mentioned on this forum recently?) out to quote. A rough ballpark will be (I think) around £100 per unit, but they might discount for doing a few. All you can do is get a quote and see.Compare that with complete new windows - nicer, I'm sure, but a good £ew £undred each?0

Yes, all the windows are clean, ( relatively) and seals look okayish no draughts, just our big window in our bedroom and the kitchen window have condensation on the inside,1

There is a lady round here, Window Woman, that replaces sealed units and reseals windows at a fraction of the cost on a company. She really is excellent and much in demand. Seems to be able to fix most things. Can redo bits of trim to make them look new.A photo of her van just for the smile it always gives me. She's actually little and slimI've also seen similar from other places.See if you have someone similar in your area. Start asking around.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
viral kindness .....kindness is contageous pass it on
The only normal people you know are the ones you don’t know very well
