  • But you know which tree to bark up, can't get much clearer with our advice.
As I said, I will continue to pressure Tesco to cancel the PCN and failing that I will make a POPLA appeal based on HP's inability to enforce and lack of adequate signage.

Thanks again for your help everyone, I will post an update here when I get one.
  • Hi all, in conversation with Tesco customer services as we speak. After the initial 'there's nothing we can do' and a bit of resistance from me, they have asked me to send a photo of the PCN, the appeal process I went through with Horizon parking, who I contacted/how and what their response was. They've also asked if I have followed the next steps as per the PCN and any other additional info.

Feel a bit uncomfortable about providing them with this info as they're probably just going to say 'we can't do anything, make a POPLA appeal' - what do you experts think?
    Thanks

I think you should comply , because what you think may happen is irrelevant
Qué Sera , Sera , what will be , will be

Plan A , using all the tools at your disposal , is always the best option

If they say , computer says no , you are no worse off than at present , that is when you do the Popla appeal

I'd send them all of it and add some words about how distressed you are and that you hope Tesco will step in for a customer who is feeling like never returning.

  • Just wanted to update you all. Contacting Tesco customer services via email was useless, still no response to my email from a week and a half ago, so I contacted them on Twitter. After a bit of resistance they agreed to send Horizon Parking a waive request and I have just received confirmation from HP that the charge has been cancelled.

Thank you all so much for your help!

    Great news!

But...next time appeal it properly, as registered keeper, because neither of the firms Tesco use send out POFA NTKs.  Their choice,  So they can NEVER hold a registered keeper liable.  Very, very easy to cancel if you use the template appeal next time and resist the urge to fire off an appeal blabbing about the story of what happened and who was driving.

    Nicely rescued though!
