Advice on ppi

Hi I have been served with a ccj  from a solicitor acting on behalf of a ppi company who allegedly are accusing me of not paying their fees. I have had no letters from the ppi company but have been told by the solicitor that the ppi company sent me a summons in march 2019 which I did not get.  I have a brain injury so memory not good and IF I did sign something would probably have not realised or fully understood thinking it was a free service. Unfortunately now very worried as have been told by solicitor if I do not pay within 7 days they will start debt proceedings. I have asked for more details as genuinely do not remember signing anything   Can anyone please give me some advice as very worried and anxious. Also I live in Scotland but the judgement has been served from an English court.

Ask them for evidence if the contract.

Once you've seen that, get it paid as soon as possible to avert the CCJ.
  • Did you get a payment from your bank/credit card company etc into your bank account as a PPI refund? You can check this by looking at old statements from before March 2019 - if you did, then you should use this money to pay the company fees. If you didn't get a pay-out then complain to them

Did you receive PPI redress for a complaint made?
Did you initiate that complaint or did you use the claims company to do it for you?
