Rugby World Cup Tickets 2023

HI All,
Not sure if anyone has heard but the ticketing for the Rugby World Cup in France in 2023 has been an absolute shambles so far
Whilst events like this are always difficult to get tickets with server crashes etc this has been exceptionally bad
I have had £285 taken from my credit card on the 19th March 2021 but no tickets appeared in my order and I had no email
The ticketing is handled by the French World Cup organisers themselves so they havent used any agent and the only way to contact them is by email
I emailed them on the 20th March with a copy of my transaction and asked about my order and they responded today (5 days later) saying "Sorry for the inconvenience" but you can apply again on the 6th April. If you email the transaction we will investigate. So generic, I had already sent them a copy but I replied again today which not doubt will go to the back of the queue again for another 5 days.
In the meantime my credit card bill has come and waiting payment
They should not have deducted that money from my account without tickets so should I put some sort of claim in against them or request my credit card to do something for me if they do not refund immediately. I guess a charge back would be instant?

You may want to ask a board guide to move this post as it not on the correct board.
When you say you 'had £285 taken from my credit card' do you mean that you attempted to buy tickets and the transaction failed or that it went through and you can't see the tickets?
Chargeback isn't an instant remedy.0 -

Ask the board guide to move it.
If 'they' have emailed you to say you did not get tickets have 'they' told you how you will get your refund (assuming it isn't a pending payment)?
Who is processing the order - what country are they in? Your consumer rights are with 'that' country.
But if you have paid by credit card and assuming a ticket is more than £100 then you should research S75. If it is that each ticket is less than that, then look at chargeback. Neither is instant though.0
